Come along and learn a new sport, meet new people and have lots of fun. We are thrilled to offer various types of Curling sessions at Aviemore Ice Rink. Sessions are open to all ages from 7 years and over and provide a brilliant opportunity to learn the basics of curling or just come along and practice your slide.

Try Curling sessions 

Try Curling is a beginner‑friendly introduction to the sport, designed so anyone can come along, learn the basics, and experience curling in a relaxed, supportive environment. It’s the national entry point promoted by Scottish Curling, and it focuses on giving people a fun, confidence‑building first taste of the game.

Try Curling sessions typically include:

Inclusive Curling 

Inclusive curling is designed so that anyone can participate — including people with physical disabilities, wheelchair users, visual impairments, additional support needs and mixed‑ability groups. The focus is on access, comfort, and enjoyment, not technical perfection.

Key features include:

Adapted equipment — delivery sticks, stabilisers, and aids allow players to deliver stones without needing to slide or bend.
Accessible gameplay — players can take part standing, seated, or with mobility support.
Flexible rules and pacing — the game is adjusted to suit the group, keeping it relaxed and pressure‑free.
Supportive coaching — staff guide participants step‑by‑step, building confidence at a comfortable pace.
A welcoming environment — sessions are social & friendly making it ideal for people who may feel nervous about trying ice sports.
